Fantasy Game Night – Aug 21st

Carw Gwyn is proud to announce the return of Fantasy Game Night on Friday, August 21st. Bring your friends and your games to join an evening of roleplaying, tabletop games, food, drinks, and good company! For the first time, Carw Gwyn will be hosting a 4-session roleplaying campaign meeting weekly on Fridays at 6:00pm, with an in-house game master leading a select number of players through a curated adventure!

Join the campaign, and prepare to be taken into a realm of collaborative fantasy designed to accommodate players of any experience level:

Shards of the Tideheart:  A Pirate D&D Adventure with an original story

  • Some wrecks are better left at the bottom. Come dig one up anyway. A coral-choked wreck holds more than treasure. A pirate captain slowly turning to something else wants what you’re carrying. Something old and best forgotten is running out of patience.

The campaign will accommodate six players, with one of each character class below to drive the story – first come, first served:

  • Fighter — The classic action hero. Swing a weapon, take a hit, keep going. Simple to learn and always useful in a fight, a safe pick if you’re not sure where to start.
  • Rogue — The clever one. Good with locks, sneaking, and getting the crew out of trouble it didn’t need to be in. Fun if you like outsmarting a problem instead of punching it.
  • Cleric — The healer. Keeps everyone standing when a fight goes badly, with some divine magic to back it up. Great if you want to feel essential without a steep learning curve.
  • Bard — The talker. Charms your way through conversations, plus a little magic for when talking stops working. A flexible choice if you’re not sure what you want yet.
  • Barbarian — The simplest class in the game to pick up. Hit hard, shrug off damage, don’t overthink it. Perfect for a genuine first-ever character.
  • Warlock — A spellcaster with an easier learning curve than most. Your magic comes from somewhere mysterious, which happens to suit this story unusually well.

Reserve your seat at the table here: https://forms.gle/XNKbjREE274riCQb9. Pre-registration for the campaign is required, and the game master will provide further details via e-mail once registration is complete. Registration is $65 per person and includes four consecutive Friday evening sessions – August 21, 28, and Sept 4, 11.

Other games are certainly welcome, but seating is limited, so come early for your best chance. Remember that lighting at Carw Gwyn can be somewhat “atmospheric,” so bring supplemental lighting if necessary. PLEASE NOTE, there will be a $25 minimum order per person per night, whether joining the curated campaigns or playing independently.

If you can’t join us on August 21st, remember that games are generally welcome at Carw Gwyn, event schedule and space permitting, but we do look forward to seeing you Friday!
